Location and Accessibility:
Wolf Point is located on the Bodrum Peninsula, nestled between Bitez Bay and Gümbet Bay. It is a 20-minute boat ride from The Divers Club, making it easily accessible for divers looking to explore the diverse marine environment of Bodrum. This site is suitable for a wide range of divers, from Discovery Divers to Advanced and Open Water Divers, as well as being one of the top spots in Bodrum for a Discovery Dive experience.
Dive Path and Features:
The dive begins in shallow waters, approximately 3 meters from the shore. As divers proceed, rock formations will be to their right, leading them gradually down into a rich marine environment. At depths around 18 meters, divers will enter areas populated by posidonia meadows surrounded by rocks. Beyond 18 meters, the dive path becomes more dramatic as the wall drops steeply to a maximum depth of 40 meters.
The current in the area can be strong, especially as divers approach the wall. The sensation of “going with the flow” is common when approaching the steep descent, and divers may experience a swim against the current on the return leg. It’s important to remain vigilant regarding boat traffic and avoid swimming near the surface when farther from shore.
While much of the marine life is found between 5 to 18 meters, Wolf Point is known for offering unexpected surprises with various species that can be encountered deeper down.
Marine Life:
Wolf Point is a highly productive environment, attracting a wide range of species, including: Groupers, Schools of Learfish and Dentex, Moray eels, Octopuses, Lionfish, Crabs, lobsters, tritons and occasionally Caretta carettas (Loggerhead sea turtles)
