REBREATHER DECOMPRESSION DIVER / LIMITED TRIMIX DIVER

REBREATHER DECOMPRESSION DIVER / LIMITED TRIMIX DIVER

Expand Your Limits with Controlled Decompression and Trimix

The Rebreather Decompression Diver / Limited Trimix Diver course is an advanced training program designed for certified rebreather divers seeking to extend their depth and decompression capabilities. This unit-specific course prepares divers to safely and efficiently conduct decompression dives to 40m/130ft using air or nitrox and to 45m/145ft using trimix. With a focus on managing up to 10 minutes of scheduled decompression, the program emphasizes safety, precision, and proper use of rebreather systems.

Course Content and Parameters

  1. Decompression Diving Protocols:
    • Maximum of 10 minutes scheduled decompression to minimize risks and ensure efficient ascent procedures.
    • Depth limits:
      • 40m/130ft with air or nitrox.
      • 45m/145ft with trimix.
  2. Gas Management:
    • Loop PO2 (Setpoint): Planned setpoint not to exceed 1.3 bar; maximum 1.4 bar only for depths of 6m/20ft or less (up to 2 minutes).
    • Open Circuit Bailout PO2: Must not exceed 1.6 bar.
  3. Diluent Specifications:
    • Decompression Course: Diluent must contain a minimum of 21% oxygen.
    • Limited Trimix Course:
      • Diluent must contain a minimum of 20% oxygen.
      • Helium content must not exceed 35%.
      • Maximum END/EAD: 30m/100ft.
  4. Gas Supply and Equipment:
    • On-board diluent gas PO2 must not exceed 1.1 bar at maximum depth.

Student Prerequisites

To enroll in the Rebreather Decompression Diver / Limited Trimix Diver course, participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Hold a certification as a RAID Deco 40 Diver or equivalent.
  • Have logged 30 open water dives with at least 25 hours of open circuit experience, including 5 dives to 30m/100ft.
  • Graduates of RAID Sport Rebreather Diver can upgrade to this course after logging 20 hours on a CCR.

Depth and Training Limitations

  1. Confined Water Training:
    • Maximum depth of 5m/15ft for initial skill practice.
  2. Open Water Depths:
    • 40m/130ft Program: Two dives must reach at least 27m/90ft.
    • 45m/145ft Program: Two dives must reach at least 35m/115ft.
  3. In-Water Training Requirements:
    • Minimum of 8 in-water sessions with at least 480 minutes of dive time.
    • Crossover divers from another rebreather unit must complete all skills with at least 3 in-water sessions totaling 240 minutes.

Certification Details

Upon successful completion, divers will be certified to:

  • Conduct rebreather decompression dives with a maximum of 10 minutes decompression time.
  • Dive to a maximum of 40m/130ft using air or nitrox as a breathing gas.
  • Dive to a maximum of 45m/145ft using trimix, adhering to specific diluent gas parameters and safety protocols.
