RAID REBREATHER DIVER (40m)

RAID REBREATHER DIVER (40m)

Advanced Training for Deeper, Safer Exploration

The RAID Rebreather Diver (40m) course is an advanced, entry-level program for divers looking to extend their depth capabilities with a Closed-Circuit Rebreather (CCR). Designed for both novice rebreather users and those upgrading from previous certifications, this course equips divers with the skills and knowledge needed to conduct safe, efficient no-decompression dives to a maximum depth of 40m/130ft.

This unit-specific course focuses on mastering the unique protocols and techniques required for rebreather diving while emphasizing safety and proper equipment care.

Course Overview

The RAID Rebreather Diver (40m) course trains participants to use CCRs effectively for recreational, no-decompression diving. You’ll learn both general and unit-specific skills for safe diving and equipment maintenance.

Course Highlights

  • No-Decompression Dives: This program focuses on no-decompression dives to ensure safe and efficient diving within recreational limits.
  • Optimal Gas Management:
    • Loop PO2 (Setpoint): Planned setpoint should not exceed 1.3 bar; maximum is 1.4 bar at depths of 6m/20ft or less for up to 2 minutes.
    • Open Circuit Bailout Gas PO2: Must not exceed 1.6 bar.
    • Diluent Gas: Minimum of 21% oxygen, with a PO2 not exceeding 1.1 bar at maximum depth.
  • Helium Restrictions: Helium is not permitted during this training program.

In-Water Training Requirements

The program includes 8 in-water sessions totaling a minimum of 480 minutes, ensuring ample time for skill development and practical application.

Depth Limitations:

  • Confined Water: Maximum depth of 5m/15ft for skill practice.
  • Open Water: At least two dives must reach 27m/90ft.

Crossover Requirements:

Divers transitioning from another rebreather unit must complete a minimum of 3 in-water sessions with at least 240 minutes of dive time.
