RAID SPORT REBREATHER DIVER

RAID SPORT REBREATHER DIVER

Benefits Without The Fuss: Simple and Fun

The RAID Sport Rebreather Diver course introduces divers to the world of rebreather diving in a simple, efficient, and non-technical format. Designed for recreational divers, this entry-level course focuses on using rebreathers safely and effectively for no-decompression dives in moderate conditions. It is tailored to divers who want to enjoy the benefits of rebreathers—extended bottom times, bubble-free diving, and improved gas efficiency—without the complexity of technical diving.

Course Overview

This unit-specific course teaches the skills and knowledge necessary to safely conduct rebreather dives to a maximum depth of 30m/100ft with a certified buddy. By the end of the course, students will be confident in planning and executing no-decompression rebreather dives within recreational limits.

Course Highlights

  1. Key Parameters and Safety Guidelines:
    • Loop PO2 (Setpoint): Maximum planned setpoint is 1.3 bar, with a hard limit of 1.4 bar, except at depths of 6m/20ft or shallower (for up to two minutes).
    • Open Circuit Bailout PO2: Inspired PO2 of bailout gas must not exceed 1.6 bar.
    • Diluent Gas Requirements:
      • Minimum 21% oxygen in the diluent.
      • On-board diluent gas PO2 must not exceed 1.1 bar at the maximum depth.
      • Helium is not permitted during training.
  2. Training Depth Limits:
    • Confined Water: Maximum depth of 6m/20ft.
    • Open Water: Two dives must reach at least 24m/80ft.
    • Total of 8 in-water sessions with a minimum dive time of 420 minutes.
  3. No-Decompression Training:
    • This is a no-decompression course, emphasizing safety and efficiency for recreational dives.
  4. Unit-Specific Training:
    • Training is conducted on the specific rebreather unit you will use. At The Divers Club, we train divers on SF2 Rebreathers.
