The RAID Scuba Diver course is tailored for individuals who want to explore the underwater world but have limited time to complete the full Open Water 20 course. Adapted from the comprehensive RAID Open Water 20 curriculum, this program provides the essential knowledge and skills to safely enjoy scuba diving, offering you a glimpse into the wonders of life beneath the surface.

Prerequisites

To enroll in the RAID Scuba Diver course, participants must:

• Be comfortable in the water and able to swim.
• Be at least 15 years old.

Course Content

This course blends theoretical learning with hands-on practice to ensure a thorough understanding of scuba diving basics:

1. Academic Learning

• Access engaging presentations, quizzes, and exams through the RAID online e-learning platform or mobile app.
• Gain a foundational understanding of dive theory, equipment, and safety protocols.

2. Skill Development

• Master all practical skills outlined in the training manual under the guidance of an experienced instructor.
• Before progressing to open water dives, participants must demonstrate:
  • A 10-minute survival swim/float without using swimming aids (e.g., mask, fins, snorkel).
  • Swimming competency using one of these techniques:
    1. Swim 200 meters without swimming aids.
    2. Swim 300 meters using a mask, fins, and snorkel.
• If conditions require, diving suits can be worn as long as they are neutrally buoyant.

Course Duration & Structure

• Time Commitment: Minimum of two days to complete.
• In-Water Experience: Includes at least one hour of underwater time in open water.
• Dive Requirements: Two open water dives with a depth limit of 12 meters (40 feet).

Certification

After successfully completing the RAID Scuba Diver course, you’ll receive an electronic certification card. This certification allows you to dive under the supervision of a dive professional to a maximum depth of 12 meters (40 feet) anywhere in the world.
