BUBBLE CAVE

Location and Accessibility:
Bubble Cave is located centrally on Black Island in Bodrum, easily accessible with a 35-minute boat ride from The Divers Club. The site offers a unique experience for divers, featuring a singular diving route that explores both a steep wall and a fascinating cavity. This dive is suited for those looking for an adventure, as well as those interested in the geological formations and marine life of Bodrum.

Dive Route:

  • Starting Depth: 5 meters
  • Surface Conditions: Typically choppy waters, so divers should be prepared for possible surface disturbance.
  • Wall Exploration:
The dive begins with an exploration of a steep wall, which quickly descends to depths exceeding 40 meters. The wall then gradually rises to around 24 meters before continuing to the sandy bottom.
From here, divers ascend to 12 meters, where they encounter the entrance to the Bubble Cave. The cave is more accurately described as a cavity and can accommodate 3 to 5 divers at a time. It is small but offers a unique experience with bubbles created by divers exhaling in the confined space.
  • Exit:
chimney exit at 5 meters allows divers to leave the cave and return to the main dive route. This exit point provides a fascinating and safe way to complete the dive.

Maximum Depth:

  • 40+ meters

Marine Life and Features:

  • Fish Species: Dentex, Learfish, Groupers, Moray eels, Lionfish, Crabslobsters, tritons and Vibrant nudibranchs
  • Bubble Cave:
    • The cave is known for the bubbles exhaled by divers, which gives it its name and creates a magical effect inside the cavity.
    • The wall and cave environment host a variety of Mediterranean marine species, making it an interesting and rich dive site for both photography and marine life observation.

Dive Site Characteristics:

  • Type of Dive:
    • Wall Dive
    • Cavern Dive (cavity, not a full cave)
    • Deep Dive
  • Ideal For:
    • Open Water Divers (with some experience)
    • Advanced Divers and above

Recommendations:

  • The Bubble Cave dive is best suited for Advanced Divers due to the deep wall exploration and the need for good buoyancy control, especially in the choppy surface conditions.
  • DPV Divers will find this site particularly enjoyable, as they can use the scooter to explore the large wall and easily reach the entrance of the cave.
  • Underwater photographers will appreciate the unique lighting and marine life around the Bubble Cave.

This dive is not only about the physical challenge but also the thrill of exploring the geological features, including the exhilarating exit through the chimney and the mesmerizing bubbles within the cave.
