Optimized Staged Decompression Diving
The RAID Deco 60 Course is a comprehensive program for experienced divers ready to advance their technical skills to depths of 60 meters (200 feet). Building on the foundation of the Deco 50 certification, this course introduces optimized staged decompression techniques, allowing divers to utilize two decompression gases for greater efficiency and safety during extended dives.
Designed for twinset or sidemount configurations, the Deco 60 Course employs the latest technologies, protocols, and knowledge to ensure divers are fully prepared for the complexities of deep technical diving.
Purpose of the Deco 60 Course
The RAID Deco 60 Course equips divers to:
- Safely conduct dives to a maximum depth of 60 meters/200 feet.
- Use air, nitrox, trimix, and custom-blended gases, including 100% oxygen, for planned depths and optimized decompression schedules.
- Operate within gas planning protocols without time limitations, ensuring flexibility and safety.
- Manage dives with a maximum END/EAD of 30 meters/100 feet, adhering to a PO2 limit of:
- 1.4 for bottom mixes.
- 1.6 for decompression mixes.
- Perform optimized decompression dives using up to two decompression gases.
Course Features
- Optimized Decompression Techniques:
- Use of two decompression gases, including 100% oxygen, to streamline decompression obligations and minimize in-water time.
- Advanced Gas Management:
- The course emphasizes precise gas planning, with decompression procedures limited only by the volume of gas carried by the diver.
- Flexible Configurations:
- Suitable for twinset or technical sidemount configurations, based on the diver’s qualification and preference.
- Practical and Theoretical Training:
- Includes three manuals covering:
- Diving in General: Advanced concepts and dive planning.
- Confined Water: Skill refinement in a controlled environment.
- Open Water: Real-world application of skills and protocols.
Prerequisites
To enroll in the RAID Deco 60 Course, participants must:
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Hold a Deco 50 certification or equivalent.
- Have logged:
- 65 hours or 100 dives on open circuit.
- 10 decompression dives.
- 20 hours of dives between 30 and 50 meters.
In-Water Training Requirements
The training includes:
- Confined Water:
- Minimum of 1.5 hours (90 minutes) to refine skills in a controlled setting.
- Open Water:
- At least 5 hours (300 minutes), including 5 dives, focusing on executing optimized decompression protocols.
