PADI Rescue Diver Course

The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to provide you with the skills and knowledge needed to prevent and manage potential issues in diving environments. This course is recognized as one of the most rewarding and challenging experiences in your scuba diving journey, as it prepares you to respond to emergency situations with confidence and efficiency.

As a PADI Rescue Diver, you will learn essential rescue techniques, improve your awareness of stress in yourself and others, and master various emergency response strategies, including handling panicked and unresponsive divers. The course will enhance your self-rescue skills and prepare you to take charge in dive emergencies.

Course Structure:

  • Theoretical Lessons: You will learn about dive accident management, emergency procedures, and first aid, covering topics like stress management, breathing and rescue breathing, and recognizing signs of trouble in yourself and others.
  • Practical Sessions: These include in-water rescue skills, such as assisting an unconscious diver, conducting controlled ascents, and handling various emergency scenarios. You will also practice self-rescue techniques and techniques for helping panicked or injured divers.
  • Rescue Scenarios: Throughout the course, you will engage in real-life rescue practice, including simulated dive accidents, ensuring you can manage stressful situations effectively.

  • First aid application and CPR
  • Techniques for swimming and non-swimming rescues
  • Emergency management protocols for dive situations
  • Response strategies for panicked divers
  • Locating and recovering missing divers
  • Techniques for surfacing and providing rescue breathing to unconscious divers
  • Emergency exit strategies
  • First aid for pressure-related injuries
  • Real-life dive accident scenarios and their management

 

Prerequisites for the PADI Rescue Diver Course:

  • Certification as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or Junior Advanced Open Water Diver) or equivalent qualification from another recognized agency.
  • Valid Emergency First Response (EFR) Primary and Secondary Care certification, completed within the last 24 months.
  • A time commitment of 4 days to complete the course.
